Ali Shaban is an incredibly multifaceted professional with over 32 years of hands-on leadership and management experience that spans an impressive array of industries, from IT to Insurance, Corporate organization that includes (FMCG, Construction, Property Development, Auto Industry, and business development) to Higher Education.
His portfolio reveals a wealth of diverse experience. Backing this wide-ranging skill set is an MBA from the prestigious University of Strathclyde in the UK, which serves as the academic foundation for his impactful career.
In the IT realm, Ali has been a pivotal figure in driving transformative change. One of his standout accomplishments was at Oman National Insurance Company, where he spearheaded a comprehensive IT transformation strategy that was intricately linked with a full workflow process and information management system. Further solidifying his status as an IT visionary, he developed two crucial systems: The Insurance Management System and the Aurora Retail Management System. Both are testaments to his skills in marrying technology with business needs, and they continue to be in operation to this day. In addition to implementing few ERP solutions with complete business process reengineering cycle.
Ali doesn’t stop at corporate success; his footprint can be seen in governmental projects of significant financial value. He successfully implemented the Container Inspection System and Air Traffic Management System for the Government of Oman. These were not mere installations but incorporated a full range of business process re-engineering to optimize costs, speed, and customer service. Ali was also part of the OMAN 2040 project of the government to develop Vision 2040. Ali is also a frequent guest on Oman official TV, Radio and media platforms, sharing his insights on a range of topics such as Omanization and economic challenges.
In addition to his IT and project management prowess, Ali has spent over two decades in human resources, focusing on developing talent and capacity building. Notably, he was in charge of Towell Group (with almost 10,000 employees) group HR head. He founded the Towell Training Institute, initially aimed at internal training but eventually blossoming into a full-fledged business unit offering a variety of programs, including vocational training for medical assistants.
Ali is a staunch advocate for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), serving as both an advisor and mentor. His contributions to INJAZ Oman as a board member for over four years underline his commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and fostering business innovation. With Towell Group he was managing all SME projects of Future Generation Co., which was established to support Omani youth to start their own business. He is continuing his role with Oman government body for SME (ALRIYADA) to mentor.

In the academic sector, Ali served as the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, steering the financial and resource aspects of the organization toward greater effectiveness and efficiency. Currently, he brings his expertise in training, development, and coaching to his roles at several Universities and Colleges in Oman.
